Ukai is a traditional Japanese method of fishing using a trained cormorant. The cormorant fishing season starts each year on 11. May and finishes on 15. October. The fisherman, called ushō, lights a fire, luring the delicious sweet fish to the surface, only for his trained helper to trap them in his beak. Cormorant training takes half a year, after the previous half year was spent getting him used to human presence.
Ushō sees their cormorant as part of the family, and back in the day they would spend the off-season together on the boat, staying close to food for the bird. Even though this tradition was replaced by feeding cormorants with frozen mackerels, the life of fishermen hasn’t become that much easier. From boat maintenance and equipment repair to sewing traditional costumes and caring for cormorants, the ushō profession remains a challenging choice.

Are you heading to yoga studio straight from work and don’t want to log your big and heavy yoga mat around whole day? Or maybe you want an extra layer between you and the studio mat, which can also be used as a towel? We got you!
Using a special technology, we combined soft suede made from recycled plastic bottles with natural rubber to create a durable designer luxury that guarantees to turn heads. For even better high performance support, the suede layer is coated in a non-slip surface. You can further enhance its non-slip properties by spraying a small amount of water prior to your exercise routine.
This ultra light travel yoga mat is a must have for all yogis who like to stay active. And to make carrying your travel mat around even easier, we give you a free stylish pouch made from recycled plastic bottles with your order.
Approximately 15 disposable plastic bottles are used to create suede for each yoga mat. That is 15 less bottles burdening our environment. Another approximately 5 bottles are used to make each suede pouch. Natural rubber is, of course, biodegradable and does not contain any toxic substances, silicones or phthalates.

Roll up or fold with printed side out. To remove any stains, use clean damp cloth. For extra stubborn stains, you can add a drop of gentle soap or washing up liquid. If needed, hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle. Leave out to dry. Protect from prolonged sun exposure.

It arrived quicker than expected, well packaged and in the sweetest mat pouch (also made from recycled material). I was in love instantly!
it’s such a pretty design with gorgeous colours, really haven’t seen anything this lovely anywhere else. It feels so soft to the touch yet sturdy and durable as well.
Not to mention the customer service is amazing and pleasure to deal with.

Love the concept, you can take it with you and practice anywhere! The Nayavita travel yoga mat has excellent grip and doesn’t slip thanks to the non-slip material of the floor side. The design is also cool, highly recommended if you are looking for a mat you can travel with.
